To Whom it May Concern
If you're visiting this page it's because you're a family member, a friend of mine, or a random person who's stumbled along my site not only wondering 'What About Wes' but 'Who the Heck is Wes'? Either way this site will provide you with some of the answers. To my family and friends, I hope that everyone is well wherever you are in your respective parts of the world. I miss you all and as always look forward to hearing news from each one of you.
A Little Diddly About A Man Named Wes
Let's see....I'm a Scorpio who likes hiking in the mountains, New England Clam Chowder, taking long showers, and being in places where I have no idea what is going on. I attended the University of Colorado receiving a Bachelors in Business Management. I graduated in the Spring of 2002, at which piont I decided I wasn't interested following a career path within the confines of the "Business World." So I promptly asked myself a question common amongst all recent college grads, "What the hell am I supposed to do now." The next few years I battled in finding an answer to that question which 5 years of College could not provide. To give you the short version, the journey was a rollercoaster ride taking me along a track which led through Western Europe, seasonal employment in Florida & Alaska, and up & over the Appalachian Mountains. 'Up and Over' is an understatement but I don't want to go into it. Finally it dawned on me....42. Yes, that's it. The decision was made that for all the good fortune which has been bestowed upon me it's time to give back. I thought it to be a worthy experience to work hard at something where financial gain was not the reward but rather personal satisfaction. Thus I spent a year volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in Costa Rica doing Volunteer Coordination. Ultimately my time with Habitat taught me that the reward of achieving a sense of purpose through the fruits of your labor, though profoundly gratifying and self fullfilling, doesn't pay the bills. Keep Looking! So...I was now approaching an age where I needed to become a little more fiscally responsible. At least that's what I kept telling myself. I didn't want anything long-term, but substantial enough to where I'm not moving around every 6 months. With that in mind I chose a profession I felt would be worthwhile, fun and would get my cash flow moving in the right direction (a positive one).
Recap
On September 25th of 2006 I ventured across the Pacific for the first time in my life. Destination - South Korea. For years I have been entertaining the idea of teaching and now the wheels of life have been set in motion once again so that this festering dream has now come to fruition. How long this dream will endure...god only knows.
